The issuance and maintenance of a licence authorising fishing activities is subject to the payment of a concession fee.
Citizens wishing to obtain a licence to engage in fishing activities are required to pay a regional tax.
A licence to engage in fishing activities may be:
a licence for professional fishing (A licence) is obtained following the passing of an aptitude test at the end of a specific training course organised by the Region or the Province of Sondrio for the territory of their respective competences. The licence consists of a 10-year card (issued by the Region or Sondrio Province) that must be accompanied by the receipt for the annual concession fee.
a licence for amateur fishing (B licence) consisting only of the receipt for payment of the annual regional concession fee, which must be shown together with an identity document if necessary.
The licence is also valid for foreigners, for whom the tourist permit is no longer required.
The amount to be paid for the annual amateur fishing fee is €23.00.
Payment is made online from the Lombardy Region Payment Portal. From here, it is also possible to print out the payment notice to be presented at authorised counters: banks, tobacconists (SISAL, Lottomatica and Banca5) or to pay via your Home Banking (via CBILL) or via APP (PayPal, SatiSpay, etc.).
The tax is exempt for residents in Italy under the age of 18 o The fishing tax due by foreign citizens must be paid by bank transfer on IBAN IT95D0306909790100000300047 made out to Regione Lombardia, indicating the bic/swift code BCITITMM (add XXX if your bank’s system requires three more characters for branch identification).
